Punishment that Exceeds the Crime
A guy illegally downloads maybe $30 of songs at most, and this warrants over half a million in fines? Christ almighty, is the RIAA out of touch with reality.
EDIT: He downloaded a few hundred songs, but shared 30. A couple hundred in fines tops, but the fine he’s being forced to pay is completely ridiculous. I challenge my followers to name any other occasion where stealing $200 worth of stuff warrants fines that are multiple orders of magnitude more than what the stolen goods are worth.
