Open Internet Red Alert: Egypt Bans YouTube for One Month

Egypt has joined a string of other Muslim countries in blocking public access to YouTube for its unwillingness to remove the controversial film “The Innocence of Muslims” from the site. Brought before an administrative court as a matter of “national security” by attorney Mohammed Hamid Salim, Judge Hassouna Tawfiq ruled YouTube to be banned for a period of one month, as well as any other online property that hosted or communicated the film. Back in November 2012, Egyptian court sentenced the filmmaker and six others involved in the production to death in absentia. Hat tip goes toThe Daily Dot.

You see that? She’s a girl at my school. I think her name is Samantha. She got jumped this week. I have no idea why. My mate said it was because she hangs with guys (her best friends) and someone got jealous. This girl in no way deserved this. People jumped her and now half my school are keen to get revenge. I dont know where it happened but she got smashed with baseball bats, apparently a few more hits and she’d be dead. She looks horrible, at school it’s so hard to recognise her. Horrible fucking people.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I CAN’T EVEN HANDLE THIS THIS MAKES ME SO UPSET. THIS POOR GIRL.

that’s just disgusting what they’ve done, they deserve to rot in hell for this

IT’S A ZOMBIE!!!!

wow that wasn’t fucking funny asshole

I just want to gather her up in my arms

and hug her ))):

Nobody deserves this.

I’m glad though that there are people willing to back her up and I hope that at least, if nothing else, this incident will help them keep it from happening again.

Because I can’t stop what’s already happened, and I can’t exactly fix it. But I can hope that from now on nothing like this happens again, that she receives proper care and that she recovers to the fullest she can (that wording sounds a bit off, I’m sorry), offer her myself to talk to if need be, as well as send along my wishes for the best as I cannot physically give her a hug.

I feel like I should be saying, on behalf of those who’ve done this to her since I doubt that they would be saying it any time soon and I can’t exactly track them down to make them say it (I don’t even know where this happened), I’m sorry. I’m sorry you had to go through this. Nobody deserves this.

Truly a shameful display of how cruel some people in this world can be.
